My name is Dimitar Ferdinandov and I am a graphics designer, photographer, videographer and science communicator. A massive space exploration geek, too! I am currently studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK. And you may ask yourself what is the connection between the digital arts and astronomy, astrophysics, aerospace engineering, etc. In my case, it is my passion for storytelling. Is there a better story to tell than the story of our Universe, the story of how everything came to be?
My experience
Photography & Videography Department Head
As a passionate photographer and videographer, volunteering at Plovdiv 2019 Foundation as a Head of the Photography and Videography Department was a great honour and an experience to remember for a lifetime. I was responsible to manage the work of the volunteers in the department and make sure every event on the 'Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture' calendar was properly covered and presented on social media. I also worked as a medium between the Foundation and the media.
Public relations (PR)
For over 14 years, the Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the UN program is an example of successful youth empowerment at the highest international level. At the initiative of the United Nations Association of Bulgaria and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bulgaria sends youth delegates to UN meetings with rights and responsibilities comparable to those of permanent representatives. Their foremost mission is to serve as a bridge between young people in Bulgaria and institutions both nationally and internationally.
As a PR of the Bulgarian Youth Delegates, I am responsible for their image online and on the media. I help them prepare their speeches, draft press releases, and work on online posts and videos.
